  • Presentation of the training course

    Welcome to the course Trainers for professionals to support children in preparation for leaving alternative care”. The training course will give you competencies how to
    organize a group of professionals and train them in supporting children and
    young people to leave alternative care.

    The course " Trainers for professionals to support children in preparation for leaving alternative care contains 5 modules :  

    Module 1 Introduction to the TRAINING process

    Module 2 Group and group process

    Module 3 OUTogether Pathways Tool

    Module 4 Autonomy development

    Module 5 Education for citizenship and proactivity

    Each of the modules is active within 1 week and during this period you will be able to learn the content, participate in the discussion, complete the tasks and check the knowledge and skills through a quick test at the end of the module.

  • Module 1 INTRODUCTION TO THE TRAINING PROCESS

    Module topics

    In this module, you will have the opportunity to be introduced to the essence of the program and the following training sessions. You will also learn about the basic requirements for training professionals in alternative care, whose task is to support the process of leaving care and preparation for independent living.

    Objectives of the module

    • To introduce the training of professionals, its nature, and its structure.
    • To define the basic concepts.
    • To get acquainted with the parameters of the preparation and conduct of a training session.

     

    Knowledge and skills that you would acquire and practice:

    Understanding what is the essence of preparation for leaving alternative care and who are the key professionals in this process. In order to be able to organize your training group, you need to deal with the basic concepts and be aware of the professional roles of care professionals.

    Making sense of the work tasks of the trainer/facilitator and the trainees.

    Knowledge of the basic interactive methods of working in a group and practicing some of them.

    Preparation of a training session and demonstration of skills for this.

  • MODULE 2 GROUP AND GROUP PROCESS

    Topics of the module

    In this module you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the aspects of the group process and group dynamics. You will find important guidelines for managing the interaction of the participants in the group: the levels of openness in the group and the depth of trust between people. You will also understand the parameters for the analysis of the group process and you will acquire skills for their structured observation, based on which you can analyze them. 

    Objectives of the module

    • To increase the knowledge about the characteristics of the group and the processes in it.
    • To improve the skills for managing the group processes in order to achieve greater efficiency of group work.
    • To provide a structured model for observation and analysis of group processes.

    Knowledge and skills that you will acquire and practice:

    Understanding the nature of the group and how the group supports the learning of each participant.

    Understanding of and thinking over the group process and its dynamics. Knowledge of the basic processes that take place in the group and how they can be managed by the trainer/facilitator.

    Knowledge of the stages of development of the group. Skills to identify each of them and what behavior should be demonstrated by group members and the facilitator.

    Skills for observation and analysis of group processes.

  • MODULE 3 „OUTOGETHER PATHWAYS” TOOL

     Topics of the module

    In this module, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the Tool for supporting young people to leave alternative care "OUTogether Pathways", the principles and standards on which it is based and the methodology for its implementation. You will acquire basic knowledge and skills for training professionals in its application, following the methodology.

    Objectives of the module

    ·         To acquaint with the essence and methodology of the Tool for support of young people to leave alternative care "OUTogether Pathways".

    ·         To provide an opportunity to share opinions and comments on the Tool.

    ·         To give specific guidelines for training professionals on its implementation.

    Knowledge and skills that you will acquire and practice:

    Understanding and thinking over the basic standards for leaving alternative care.

    Knowledge of the responsibilities of key people in the process of leaving care.

    Introduction to the content and methodology for working with the Tool "OUTogether Pathways".

    Skills for training professionals how to work with the toolkit.

  • MODULE 4 AUTONOMY DEVELOPMENT

    Topic of the module

    The module presents the main theses related to the understanding of autonomy as a person's ability for self-management and self-control and what is the role of professionals for its development in children and youth in alternative care.

    Objectives of the module

    • To increase the understanding of the essence of autonomy and why it is important to develop it in children in alternative care.
    • To develop skills for training professionals on the topic.
    • To give practical guidelines for training professionals in alternative care for the development of autonomy.

    Knowledge and skills that you will acquire and practice:

    Understanding and thinking over the importance of developing autonomy in children and young people in alternative care,

    Understanding the interrelationship between attachment and the ability to be autonomous.

    Introduction to organizational and practical models for developing autonomy.

    Getting acquainted with an example structure and topic of a consultation session with young people to develop decision-making skills.

    Skills for training professionals how to support children and develop autonomy in them.

  • MODULE 5 EDUCATION FOR CITIZENSHIP. PROACTIVITY

    Topic of the module

    The module presents the basic concepts and definitions for the essence of citizenship education and proactivity, as well as the main emphases for the implementation of group programs for education for citizenship and proactivity of children and youth in alternative care.

    Objectives of the module

    • To increase the understanding of the essence of education for citizenship and why it is important for youths in alternative care.
    • To increase the understanding of the nature of proactivity and the importance of promoting it among children in alternative care.
    • To develop skills in professional trainers to organize programs on the topic.
    • To provide practical guidelines for training of professionals in alternative care.

    Knowledge and skills that you will acquire and practice:

    Understanding the nature of education for citizenship and areas of competence for citizenship.

    Understanding and making sense of proactive and reactive behavior.

    Introduction to an exemplary structure and design of a group program for citizenship training and a group program for training in proactivity.

    Skills for training professionals how to implement group programs for citizenship and proactivity training.
